Post 2: The Best Holidays Ever

My first travel out of Chile was in 2015 to Colombia. My family and I decided to go to Cartagena de Indias, a very popular destination due to location on the Caribbean Sea and colonial architecture.

Cartagena de Indias was one of the most important ports in Spanish America, so its cultural heritage and the essence of the city can still be appreciated in colorful streets and ancient structures.

We were touring the city for 10 days, we visit museums and the fort built around the walled city. From the coast you can see how the city is protected by a great stone wall with tunnels and passageways designed to protect the Spanish from their invaders.

The next 5 days of our trip we visited Isla Barú, a tourist destination known for its warm and turquoise waters. It's chosen to rest ofter the intense days of walking and touring realized in Cartagena.

we practice windsurf and sail in catamaran. we taste exotic dishes and drinks typical of the area. My favorite drink is coconut lemonade, which is refreshing and sweet perfect for to days. My mom and I drank it every day during the trip.

it was the best winter vacation because I could see electrical storm and rain with 30º celsius, it was a beautiful landscape and the best thing, that I admired with shirt and short.

Post 7: Changes to my Study Program

I am studying 5th semester of architecture and I think the university has several shortcomings both in its a building and in the curriculum. The first topic is the lack of adequate spaces for recreation and relaxation, I think that a college that teaches architecture focused on interior design and building, It should have optimal spaces for lunch and study. I didn´t like having lunch in the dining room, because there were always pigeons and trash. Another problem that always existed is the lack of study rooms available to work and the amount of book available to study. The second topic is the workload involved in all the subjects. The teachers struggle between hours spent in indirect study, they don't realize how much extra time we need to do homework. The workshop teachers assume that our full free time is to work on their subject but they don´t understand that the amount of work they request for consumes our time to work on other subjects. Post 3: Architecture Specialization, Future Design

I'm studying my fifth semester of architecture so I can choose specialization courses in landscaping and sustainability. I don't know if I really admire a building but I really like the work of a Chinese architecture studio. Turenscape works from urban and landscape design. Many of the work of this firm consist of revitalizing abandoned spaces, threatened by the accelerated urbanization of growing cities. Turenscape´s strategy was to create green sponge by implementing a stormwater wetland park and preserve natural habitats offering multiple services from the strengthening of ecosystems within the city.  Such as, the transformation of the wetland into a multifunctional water park, which collect, filters and stores rainwater, providing new recreational and aesthetic experiences for the city.  Another of its project consisted of generating a regenerative living recreational landscape through the restoration design strategy of a polluted river. Waterfalls and terraces are us...
